Electromechanical Engineer

Organisation

Our client is an SME in the food industry (vacuum-packed meals), based in Wavre. It is a company on a human scale, with strong on-site teams and a well-structured working environment that adheres to high food safety standards.

Function

Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment
Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults
Work on the building: electrical systems, water softeners, dock doors, alarm systems
Check, monitor and maintain the facilities on a regular basis
Organise and monitor machine maintenance and servicing schedules
Manage appointments with subcontractors and external repairers
Intervening between two production cycles without disrupting the teams
Comply with food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP)

Offer

Fixed-term contract — starting on 1 June 2026
Full-time — 38 hours per week, daytime hours (8am–4.30pm)
Salary commensurate with experience

Requirements

A qualification in electromechanics or equivalent experience
At least two years’ experience in industrial maintenance
Experience in the food industry is an advantage, but not essential

Technical skills

Expertise in electrical, mechanical and building works
Ability to read diagrams and machine documentation
Familiar with compressors, pumps and motors
Knowledge of current safety rules and standards

Good interpersonal skills for managing external stakeholders
Capable of handling both emergency and scheduled operations
